Careers in Local Government - Grade 11 Presentation
By the time students have graduated from a post-secondary institution, most know what type of career they would like to pursue. Unfortunately, not many students are focused on a career in local government. Therefore, it is important that students become more aware of the opportunities open to them in the local government sector before they begin their post-secondary education.
To help promote local government to students, Alberta Municipal Affairs has developed an interactive presentation for high school classes, which is now available to all municipalities across Alberta. The “Career Opportunities in Local Government – Facilitator’s Guide – Presentation to High School Students” includes:
- Facilitator’s Guide, including copies of handouts for the students
- Templates to market the presentation at your local high schools
- PowerPoint for the 40-minute presentation
- PowerPoint for the 80-minute presentation
